DAWN is built on HEM Data’s award winning Snap-MasterTM software, providing you with all of the data acquisition, real-time analysis, plotting, storage/retrieval, and post analysis capabilities that have been developed since Snap-Master was released in 1991. This solid software platform allows DAWN to integrate data acquisition with a variety of display types, including Y-T & X-Y plots, stripcharts, and digital, dial and bar meters plus indicators.

Snap-Master was the first Windows-based data acquisition and analysis software, and was declared the top in-vehicle data acquisition and analysis product by Automotive Engineering magazine. DAWN give you all of the features of Snap-MasterTM – such as the ability to replay data as quickly as possible, or to pace the replay up to 10X faster or slower than real-time.

Using the same innovative flowchart approach of Snap-Master, DAWN is also intuitive, making network data as easy to acquire as analog data – all without any programming!

Since Snap-Master is known for its ease-of-use, we have extended its capabilities to acquire in-vehicle network data. Snap-Master was the first data acquisition software to include a sensor database to automatically produce data in engineering units while auto scaling the plots to match the range for each sensor. The DawnEdit parameter and message database manager conveniently relates engineering parameters to network messages to show your desired parameters scaled in engineering units.

Snap-Master makes it easy to build equations by point-and-click, featuring the ease-of-use of a spreadsheet with the powerful functions required to analyze engineering data. Snap-Master offers a standard Waveform Analyzer module and an optional Frequency Analyzer module.

Snap-Master’s Waveform Analyzer module is specifically designed to handle engineering data, processing millions of data points with ease. Waveform Analyzer includes intelligent processing, allowing you to define points of interest with logic that used in subsequent calculations.
